Assignment instructions:
This is a Notan Study. The work should be two values: black and white. You draw the negative spaces between the objects in the still life. The negative space should be colored black with compressed charcoal and the positive spaces remain the color of your paper. Attention to compositional strategies should be incorporated. At least two sides of your paper should have objects going out of frame.

Still Life - Value
Assignment instructions:
This composition is a value study. Using the provided still life create an image that captures the value changes in the objects to create a sense of volume. Objects should have little to no outlining. Edges of the objects should be created by the value difference between objects. Shadows are included.

Draw a landscape using graphite. Size to be 13.5 in high by 24 in wide on drawing paper.
Demonstrate a knowledge of the ways to create space by using several of the techniques in your drawing.

Pandemic Ponderings - Final project
Assignment instructions:
- Five drawings that depict your experiences, feelings, thoughts, and/or viewpoints during the pandemic
- Use any of the techniques and materials we have used in the course
- You may combine the materials in one drawing
- Use photos or objects—do not draw from your imagination
- The five drawings should have cohesive quality but don’t have to be the same materials
- Paper for the drawings will be provided to you
- Five drawings to be presented to the class on Dec 13
- Assignment will be graded from Voicethread. Upload quality images, cropped to edges of paper, no shadows, and with the top of image up. In addition, please write or record an explanation for each image
