This installation includes audio with stories of people who had died told by a loved one or by a healthcare provider who had cared for them, the experience of listening to the stories might resonate with people. I want people to have a realization of the immense loss of life related to the pandemic and also how that has impacted so many people. “It is estimated that for every death, nine people are affected by bereavement. The scale of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on those bereaved is now becoming apparent, whether the death was from COVID or from other causes” (Pearce, et al. 2021). The impact on our society as a whole is going to be felt for a long time. The reverberations of that loss will echo around the emptiness of the space left behind.
